The 2017 season has been going very well for UCF Football so far. Through two games, the Knights are 2-0 and have won by an average margin of 36 points after blowing out Maryland this weekend.

That strong performance was recognized in both the AP and Coaches polls this week. In the AP Poll, UCF received four votes, which places them at 35th.

The Knights fared even better in the Coaches Poll, picking up 13 votes, the 33rd most. While UCF is not ranked in either, the team more than likely would be if it gets a win against Memphis next weekend. The Tigers picked up more votes than the Knights in both polls.

UCF has not been ranked since the 2013 season, which is widely considered the team’s best year ever. That year, the Knights finished with a 12-1 record, a conference championship, and defeated Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl in a major upset.

The Knights, who will only play 11 games this season due to Hurricane Irma, will take on the Tigers at home next Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
