UCF Women’s Basketball released its 2017-18 schedule this week, another sign that a new season is right around the corner.
The Knights open the season on Nov. 10 at CFE Arena, hosting Mercer at 5:30 p.m. before the men’s game at 8:00 p.m. Following the home opener, the team will start a three-game road trip at Chattanooga (Nov. 13), Gardner-Webb (Nov. 17) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 19).
UCF is hosting a Thanksgiving tournament on campus, with the Knights taking on IUPUI (Nov. 25) and Northern Iowa (Nov. 26).
Following a 13-game non-conference slate, the Knights open up AAC play on Dec. 30 at home against Temple. Their first and only meeting of the year with new conference addition Wichita State is at home on Jan. 6. The team then meets perennial powerhouse UConn for the first of two times on Jan. 9 in Storrs. The Huskies make the return trip to Orlando on Feb. 7.
After picking up its first win in the rivalry since 1980 a season ago, UCF will meet I-4 rival USF twice this season. The Knights visit Tampa on Jan. 14, then host the Bulls on Feb. 18.
Overall, the schedule consists of 13 home games. UCF advanced to the WNIT last year in its first year under coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson.
