UCF moves up No. 17 in AP Poll

After dropping to No. 18 last week, UCF is now back where it started at No. 17 in this week’s AP Poll.

The Knights saw their point total increase from 445 to 544. The only other Group of Five team to appear in the rankings is Boise State, who came in at No. 22 after a 14-7 win against Marshall.

UCF is coming off a big win in Boca on Saturday night against FAU. The Knights won 48-14, with four different running backs recording a score and true freshman quarterback Dillon Gabriel earning his first start.

Despite a rough completion percentage, he still threw for 245 yards and notched three total touchdowns.

It’s unclear what direction UCF will go at quarterback next week, but the starter will certainly have their hands full. The team will take on perennial Pac 12 power Stanford at home, and will be looking to earn their fourth win against a Power Five team in the last three seasons.

The Cardinal, who are coming off a blowout loss to USC, will face the Knights in Orlando at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
