For the first time since 2013, the No. 25 UCF Knights (3-0, 1-0 AAC) have found themselves in both the AP and the Coaches Poll.

Following the Knights’ dominant 40-13 blowout win at Spectrum Stadium on Saturday night, UCF joined USF (5-0, 3-0) as the only two teams from the American Athletic Conference in either poll.

After easily defeating FIU (3-1) 61-17 in the season opener, UCF followed up with a big 38-10 win over the Maryland Terrapins (3-1) last weekend.

When UCF was last ranked in 2013, the Knights had their best season in history. They finished the year 12-1, earned a conference championship and went on to defeat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl in a major upset.

With other ranked teams facing tough schedules this week, UCF may have a chance to secure its position or move up in both polls. Both No. 24 NC State and N0. 23 West Virginia will face ranked teams this weekend.

If UCF manages to stay ranked, the team could have a shot at making it to a New Year’s Six Bowl. The only other group of five teams currently ranked are San Diego State University and USF, who the Knights will play later this season.

UCF will take on Cincinnati on the road next weekend.
