UCF drops to No. 18 in AP Poll

After a dominant win to kick off the season, UCF has fallen a spot in the AP Top 25. The Knights, who started out at No. 17, fell a single spot to No. 18 in the second week of the poll. UCF, however, remains as the highest ranked Group of Five team, with Boise State coming in at No. 24.

The Knights are coming off a big win in their opening game on Thursday, easily taking down FAMU in a 62-0 win. It also marked the first time in school history that three separate quarterbacks recorded a passing touchdown, with Brandon Wimbush, Dillon Gabriel and Quadry Jones all finding a receiver in the endzone.

At this time last year, UCF was ranked No. 19 in the AP Poll coming off a 56-17 win against UConn. The Knights didn’t see a significant jump in their ranking in 2018 until they took down FAU at home in Week 4 and jumped from No. 16 to No. 13.

The Knights and Owls will face off on Saturday in Boca Raton.
