For the fourth straight year, UCF is going bowling. The Knights, who went 9-3 in the regular season, will be heading to Tampa to take on Marshall in the Gasparilla Bowl.
The game, which is set for 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, will match up two familiar opponents. Marshall was arguably UCF’s biggest rival in the team’s Conference USA days, with the teams having played each other 11 times. The Knights won the most recent meeting in 2012.
UCF continues what has unquestionably been the most successful run in the young program’s history. It will be the team’s fourth straight year playing in a bowl, and a win would give them a third-straight 10-win season. The Knights are 35-4 are over the last three years.
Marshall, which took down USF in the Gasparilla Bowl last season, finished this year 8-4 and fell just short of a chance to play for the Conference USA Championship. The Thundering Herd are 3-1 against AAC opponents since 2015.
