UCF Football has added an 11th game to its 2017 schedule and will play Austin Peay on Oct. 28. UCF had originally had a normal 12-game slate, but was forced to cancel its game against Georgia Tech and reschedule Memphis due to Hurricane Irma.

UCF was set to play Maine but was forced to cancel that game in order to play Memphis, a conference opponent, on that date.

The Knights also played an FCS team last year, when they opened the 2016 season against South Carolina State. UCF dominated that game, going on to win 38-0.

UCF, which started off the season with a dominant 61-17 win over FIU, will play its second game of the season this weekend when the team travels to play Maryland, who they took to double overtime last year. After the win in their opening game, the Knights received votes in the Coaches’ Poll and have a legitimate chance at playing for the AAC Championship this season.

After going 0-12 in 2015, new head coach Scott Frost led the Knights to a six-win improvement and a bowl appearance last season. UCF is looking to build on that performance this season, despite missing out on playing a game.
