UCF jumps into top 15 in AP Poll

For the third straight season, UCF has moved into the top 15. The Knights, who are now No. 15 in the AP Poll, moved up from No. 17 after a big win this weekend.

UCF easily took down perennial Pac 12 power Stanford at home, shutting down the Cardinal for a 45-27 win. This is the earliest that the Knights have ever moved into the top 15. Last year, they hit that mark on Sept. 23 and had previously never gotten that high until late October.

Several weeks into the season, the Knights are still seeing very few threats for the Group of Five New Year’s Six bid. Boise State is the only other mid major currently ranked, coming in at No. 20. 3-0 Memphis is receiving votes and could end up ranked in the coming weeks.

UCF remains as technically the second-best team in Florida, with UF sitting at No. 9 after escaping from Kentucky with a win.

The Knights will head out on the road next Saturday to take on another Power Five foe in Pitt. The game will be televised on ABC.
