After having two games called off due to the effects of Hurricane Irma, UCF announced a change to its 2017 football schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The week two home game against Memphis that was originally scheduled for Sept. 9, then pushed up to Sept. 8 before being called, will now be played on Sept. 30.
To make that move, UCF will have to buy out its matchup against Maine. Memphis had a non-conference game scheduled against Georgia State, which also had to be bought out. Kickoff and broadcast information for the rescheduled conference opener will be announced as soon as possible, according to UCF’s official release.
Since the Knights regained their game with the Tigers, their conference schedule is back to a full eight games. However, without facing Georgia Tech and Maine, the team is still at 10 games for the 2017 season. UCF is exploring options for a potential non-conference game on Oct. 28, which was supposed to be the team’s bye week.
UCF returned to practice on Thursday and will start full preparation for its next game, which is Sept. 23 at Maryland. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
